Pools and Playgrounds
One of the top family parks in Nassau, 105 acres serves children with a variety of sports and play areas, including age-appropriate swimming and playgrounds. Its Olympic-size pool, two water slides, diving pool, as well as a kiddie pool, training pool and interactive water play area are all part of its swimming complex. The park’s indoor artificial ice skating rink lights up children’s eyes. The rink is open all year and provides group and personal skating lessons as well as various hockey programs.
Golf Course
A nine-hole, par 30 course and a lighted and heated driving range are available at Cantiague Park. Miniature golf enthusiasts will appreciate the park’s challenging 18-18 hole mini golf course. For all levels of golfer, this is a simple stroll and game. Every Tuesday, the course is closed, and discounts are available for disabled people and volunteer fire fighters. Only on weekdays does senior pricing apply.
Another attraction of the park is its 24-hour day and night lighted (in season) handball, paddle ball, tennis, and basketball courts. Four softball fields and four soccer fields are also available.
Picnics
If you want to picnic on a spring or summer day, there is an unreserved picnic area or a private site that you may enjoy for a modest price.
